What To Expect
As an Analysis Engineer within our Structures Engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of next generation Tesla products. Tesla is synonymous with industry leading crash safety performance and in this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing this performance with revolutionary vehicle designs. You will be brilliant both technically as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment. You will work with Vehicle Engineering teams to analyze the performance of future vehicle designs and with Test Engineering teams to develop tests, correlate simulation models, and improve the predictive capability of Analysis Engineering at Tesla.

What You'll Do

Develop finite element models for analysis and optimization for both crash and durability load cases; Perform linear and nonlinear analysis on a range of structural components from subsystems to complete vehiclesPerform computer simulations related to vehicle frontal crash, side impact, roof strength, and HV battery systems on a vehicle level and verifying the results from the simulations comply with multiple various crash and durability safety requirementsChallenge established CAE methods and processes to improve efficiency and accuracyUse CAE tools to optimize performance for the body, battery, closures, chassis, and other sub-systemsGuide world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analysesQuickly learn the tools necessary to execute, and modify, or create new tools as necessary

What You'll Bring

Detailed and applied knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, Material Science and Numerical Methods in a product development environmentDetailed and applied software experience in CAE pre-processors, solvers, and post- processors in a product development environment. ANSA, PRIMER, LS-DYNA, HyperWorks and META preferredExperience working with aluminum, steel, composite structures, and a variety of advanced joining methods for crashworthinessDemonstrated ability to work independently and with teams on problems that are challenging to solve and requiring innovative solutionsDemonstrated ability to deconstruct complex crash test scenarios with good logic and analyticsDemonstrated ability in iterative and collaborative engineering environments – success in roles requiring high levels of technical communication and interpretation of analytical results to design engineers and technical leadershipDemonstrated ability to deliver analysis on challenging projects with extremely tight timing constraintsBasic level of working ability with scripting in Python or native soft

Expected Compensation

$92,800 - $168,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
