They may be subject to change due to changes in our business processes or other business-related reasons.POSITION SUMMARYAre you passionate about taking action to combat food insecurity? The Martha O'Bryan Center is looking for a motivated part-time Assistant Food Security Coordinator to assist and enhance our efforts in providing essential food resources to the community. This role will support the operation of the Center's Food Pantry and Grocery on Wheels programs. As the Assistant Food Security Coordinator, you will play a key role in helping the Center achieve its mission of empowering families and individuals, particularly those living in "food deserts," by ensuring access to nutritious food and connecting them to additional support services and emergency assistance. This position is a vital part of our comprehensive approach to supporting individuals and families at the Center.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Food Bank:Assist with signing clients and entering their information into Second Harvest and Martha O’Bryan database systems.Assist with ordering and coordinating of food supplies for the pantry and Grocery on WheelsAssist with Grocery on Wheels delivery routes when neededEngage clients and create a welcoming environmentEmpower client in client-choice food pantry, provide helpful nutrition resourcesFacilitate nutrition and food sampling demonstration twice a month to encourage clients to increase awareness of availability pantry items and promote healthy, family-friendly meal optionsUnloads food deliveriesStocks shelves and keep inventory.Maintains a clean working environmentMonitor needs of senior clients, and maintain regular contact Provides referrals to other needed services from the Center or partner agencies; identify potential crisis situations and connects clients with appropriate social services and support.Looks for and implements program improvements through customer feedback, networkingScheduleMondays and Thursdays from 7:30am to 4:30pmTuesdays from 1:00pm to 4:00pmMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (HiSET, GED).One or more years of experience providing social services to a high-risk elderly and/or family population preferred.The above qualifications express the minimum standards of education and/or experience for this position.
