CATERING DRIVER / DRIVER ASSISTANT

Part-Time | Non-Exempt | Long Island City, NY | Pay Rate $22-$25

We are seeking Catering Drivers and Driver Assistants who are reliable, professional, and excited to play a critical role in delivering exceptional event experiences. This position is essential to the success of our operations and ensures every event begins and ends seamlessly.

ROLE OVERVIEW

DELIVERY + LOGISTICS

  • Timely and safe delivery of catering orders to a wide range of off-premise event locations
  • Drive and navigate extended vans; experience with 16ft trucks or larger preferred
  • Load, organize, secure, and unload food and equipment with care and precision
  • Maintain food safety standards and temperature control throughout transport
  • Complete vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicles
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures for transporting food and equipment
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed
  • Communicate clearly with Operations regarding order status, delays, or issues

CLIENT EXPERIENCE + TEAM SUPPORT

  • Provide friendly, professional service to clients and guests upon delivery
  • Represent Dish Food & Events with warmth and professionalism
  • Handle last-minute changes or tight timelines calmly and efficiently
  • Collaborate with Culinary and Hospitality teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Driver Assistants work under the direction of Catering Drivers and Operations leadership, with opportunity for growth into a Driver role

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • No history of accidents or significant traffic violations
  • Strong punctuality and dependability
  • Previous catering or food delivery experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and boxes
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in packing and route management
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stay composed and resourceful under pressure
  • Knowledge of food safety and transportation standards
  • Must understand this is a part-time, on-call, seasonal position
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
