Child Care Preschool Teacher Assistant – Plan and carry out a daily program designed to meet the physical and developmental needs of a group of children aged 3 to 5 years of age.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
· Assist with scheduled program appropriate developmental experiences for a group of children.
· Maintain a physical environment conducive to children’s growth and development and promote optimal program functioning.
· Consider and provide for the individual needs of each child in relationship to their cultural and socioeconomic background, emotional or physical handicaps, and individual learning style.
· Respect the dignity and basic rights of each child.
· Help children learn to adapt to and cope with real-life situations; to develop appropriate habits in such activities as eating, dressing, napping, and personal hygiene.
· Make daily observations of the health of children, reporting conditions which require attention.
· Maintain progress records on the emotional, physical, social and intellectual development of assigned children.
· Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops, and other career development professional activities.
· Assist with public relations and events.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
· High school diploma or GED.
· Child Development Associate (CDA) certification, preferred.
· One (1) year experience working as a Childcare Teacher Assistant.
· Food Worker Card, preferred.
· Ability to lift and move up to sixty (60) pounds.
· Must pass a state and federal background check.
· CPR and First Aid Certification.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Salary: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour DOE/E. Plus full benefits: Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid leave and holidays, and retirement plan with matching contributions.
