Your impact

Jacobs is seeking a Civil Designer with aviation experience to support the planning and design of airport and airfield infrastructure projects. This role focuses on producing high quality civil design and drafting deliverables for aviation facilities, including runways, taxiways, aprons, landside improvements, and supporting utilities. You will work closely with aviation engineers, planners, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from early concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare civil design and drafting packages for aviation and airfield projects from conceptual through final design

• Set up and manage CAD files, drawing standards, and project data

• Support airfield projects in accordance with FAA Advisory Circulars, DOD UFCs, and other airport design standards 

• Coordinate design work with engineers, aviation planners, and other disciplines 

• Perform civil design and drafting using AutoCAD and Civil 3D including surface modeling and corridor design 

• Develop grading, drainage, utilities, pavement sections, and access road layouts for airport facilities

• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans and stormwater management layouts

• Support quality control reviews and client deliverables

• Participate in design coordination meetings with project teams and airport stakeholders

Here's what you'll need

• Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Civil Designer or CAD Designer supporting aviation or transportation projects

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bluebeam 

• Experience producing civil site plans including geometry, grading, drainage, utilities, and pavements

• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment

• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on airport or airfield infrastructure projects

• Knowledge of FAA design criteria and airfield geometry

Posted Salary Range: Minimum

86,600.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

140,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $86,600.00 to $140,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
