We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

American Leadership Academy - Blythewood High School is now accepting applications for Dance Teachers for the 2026-2027 academic year. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.

The Dance Teacher instructs students in various styles of dance. In addition to teaching dance techniques, the Dance Teacher may also oversee a competitive dance program for the school. The duties in this position focus on preparing the dance team for competitions. The Dance Teacher will choreograph routines, lead students on the team as they perfect the performance and ensure that they meet all judging criteria for the competition.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

• Ability to teach using various dance styles and methodologies from beginner to advanced level.
• Implement dance curriculums and prepare lesson plans.
• Ability to communicate with a diverse group of teachers and students.
• Engage, encourage, and motivate students to reach their goals.
• Evaluate student performance and make recommendations for improvement.
• Choreograph routines and select music for recitals and concerts.
• Conduct group and private lessons as required.
• Provide a fun and creative environment.
• Keep up to date in your discipline and implement any changes to the dance routines and curriculum as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Pass applicable background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Dance Education, or related field
• South Carolina Teaching Certificate Experience teaching Dance
