Mental Health Resource Center is a not-for-profit Florida corporation that provides a wide range of mental health and behavioral health care services to the community such as 24-hour emergency services, inpatient psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults as well as outpatient services such as medication management, case management, and counseling.

Job Summary

The Director of Facilities and Security is responsible for coordinating and directing the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and security of all Renaissance Behavioral Health Systems (RBHS) and Mental Health Resource Center (MHRC) facilities. Supervises activities of workers engaged in housekeeping and maintenance/repair of buildings, security, and oversees company fleet of vehicles. Ensures compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

FACILITIES

  • Travels to and inspects all facilities in Duval County on a regular basis and those facilities outside of Duval County (owned and leased) on an as needed basis, for any safety discrepancies, structural integrity and/or visual deterioration. Makes regular and specific recommendations for the completion of tasks and projects that will remedy these issues.
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities’ modifications, including obtaining cost estimates for construction. Assists with acquisition and disposition of real property
  • Coordinates and monitors all subcontract requirements for RBHS and MHRC, to include minor and major construction work, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards. Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
  • Performs quality control inspections of all facility maintenance to ensure compliance with all applicable codes.
  • Develops all maintenance and housekeeping schedules and checklists (water temperature, emergency generator testing, fire, safety, cleanliness, facility upkeep, linen deliveries and supplies, etc). Monitors the performance of Maintenance and Housekeeping departments and ensures services provided are completed in a timely and professional manner. Ensures work requests are completed in a timely and appropriate manner. Addresses and resolves any performance deficiencies within the Maintenance and Housekeeping Departments.
  • Identifies special projects and tasks and coordinates assignments with appropriate manager.
  • Trains, schedules and supervises the RBHS/MHRC Courier. Oversees daily schedule and makes adjustments as necessary or as requested.
  • Monitors all vehicle leases including supervision of vehicle safety and maintenance inspections, and oversees use of gas cards.

SECURITY

  • Creates, maintains and updates policies and procedures to ensure facility and departmental compliance with agency guidelines, legal and contractual requirements.
  • Collaborates with the HIPAA Security and Privacy Officers, Corporate Compliance Officer, Safety Officer and QI/Risk Management Department and QLC committees to develop the RBHS/MHRC Security Plan. Implements and monitors the Security Management plan, advising supervisor of changes or improvements needed.
  • Performs safety inspections and conducts fire drills as required at both MHRC South and MHRC North facilities. Ensures that all appropriate paperwork is completed at all locations for safety inspections and fire drills. Ensures the compliance of safety inspections and fire drills at other sites and monitors receipt of reports.
  • Conducts and documents Hazard Surveillance at MHRC South and MHRC North facilities.Creates and updates training modules and participates in the provision of assigned topics during company-wide new employee orientation sessions. Trains an alternate to substitute if unable to attend the new employee orientation session.
  • Coordinates and manages company-wide Crisis Prevention Intervention training. Creates annual training schedule and oversees trainer compliance regarding completion of required paperwork, adherence to program standards, maintenance of training credentials, and quality of programming.
  • Provides security oversight at satellite facilities as needed or requested. Assesses safety or security threats and makes recommendations. Contacts and coordinates with law enforcement if necessary.
  • Ensures supplies and forms needed by the department are ordered in a timely manner.
  • Completes investigations and monitors operations by reviewing unit video and gathering related information as directed by supervisor. Reports findings, submits documentation, and maintains confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree or advanced coursework in facilities operations or management preferred. Additional training in security or healthcare preferred.
  • Two years of experience in facilities required.
  • Two years of security related or mental health experience required.
  • Two years of supervisory experience required.
  • Two years working with the National Fire Protection Agency Life Safety Code required.
  • Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting preferred.
  • Must meet Frequent Drivers requirements, including a valid Florida driver’s license, and insurance coverage equal to or exceeding 50,000/100,000/50,000 split limits.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, Outlook, Email, and the use of the Internet required.

Position Details

This is a full time days position. Rotate weekends, on call.
