Summary

Position Overview

We are looking for a flexible, dependable, and caring Early Childhood Floater Teacher to support multiple classrooms and age groups within our program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well in a team environment, and is passionate about supporting young children’s growth and development. The Floater Teacher will step into different classrooms as needed to maintain ratios, assist lead teachers, and ensure a safe and engaging environment for all children.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and activities
  • Provide coverage for classrooms during staff breaks, absences, and transitions
  • Support children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs across various age groups
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Help manage classroom routines, including meals, nap time, and transitions
  • Follow all licensing regulations and center policies
  • Adapt quickly to different classrooms, teaching styles, and schedules

Requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • Previous experience working with young children (infants through preschool age preferred)
  • Strong flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork skills
  • Basic understanding of child development
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude

  • CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or ECE degree
  • Experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
  • Familiarity with play-based learning approaches
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities
  • Training in behavior management or social-emotional development
  • Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs
