Salary Range: $54,000 - $81,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed first article inspections (FAI) of newly manufactured parts and assemblies.
• Verify conformance of parts to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment (e.g., CMM, calipers, micrometers, height gauges) for dimensional verification.
• Document FAI results accurately, including creating and maintaining FAI reports (e.g., AS9102 forms).
• Identify and report non-conformances, discrepancies, and potential quality issues to relevant departments.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve first article inspection findings.
• Maintain organized inspection records and ensure traceability of inspected parts.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications, including advanced GD&T.
• Demonstrated experience using a wide range of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, CMMs).
• Proven experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs) in a manufacturing environment, ideally to AS9102 standards.
• Excellent documentation skills with experience completing detailed inspection reports and FAI forms accurately.
• Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail to identify and document non-conformances.

Bonus Qualifications

• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
• Experience with various manufacturing processes and their typical quality characteristics.
• Relevant ASQ certifications (e.g., CQT, CQI).
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
