Full time Secondary (6-12) Chinese Teacher

Shrine Catholic High School & Academy is in Royal Oak, MI at the corner of 13 Mile Rd and Woodward Avenue. QUALIFICATIONS

All candidates shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach: Mandarin (FR)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Apply differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement for all learners in a learner-centered and collaborative environment.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
• Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods of instruction.
• Implement research-based practices including differentiated instruction.
• Consistently create a high level of active student engagement and student-led learning.
• Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process including a FACTS Student Information System and the Google Suite. (Including Google Classroom)
• Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, spiritual, and emotional development of students.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Code of Conduct
• Create an environment of respect and rapport, rooted in faith.
• Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, principals, colleagues, and community members.
• Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly using FACTS.

• 5 sections of High School Chinese Curriculum
• 1 section of Academy Introduction to Chinese Curriculum
