    Gym Assistant General Manager

    OVERVIEW:

    Everybody knows, WE DO GYM. Now we do gyms. We're pleased to announce that we’re opening our first-ever public gym in Wynwood, Miami. From a bedroom in Birmingham, UK to a global community of 20+ million, everything we’ve done has started in the gym. Now, we’re taking that one step further.... As a Gym Assistant General Manager, you’ll support the day to day leadership and operations of the gym, playing a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience. You’ll lead by example on the gym floor, supporting your team to uphold high standards of service, safety, cleanliness, and operational execution. With your passion for fitness, wellness, and the Gymshark brand, you’ll help foster an inclusive, high energy culture that motivates both members and staff. Working closely with the Gym General Manager, you’ll help bring Gymshark’s vision to life by driving operational excellence, developing the team, and supporting key business goals

    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

    • Represent Gymshark’s culture and values, leading by example to deliver an inclusive, community driven, high energy gym experience.
    • Lead daily gym operations, ensuring the club is clean, safe, fully operational, and service ready on every shift.
    • Protect and elevate the member experience by quickly identifying and resolving equipment, facility, cleanliness, and service issues, ensuring timely escalation and follow through.
    • Drive operational excellence and consistency through walkthroughs, checklists, documentation, and timely action closeout to maintain standards and reduce preventable costs.
    • Ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and security standards, in accordance with club policies and inspection and audit requirements.
    • Support revenue protection and financial accuracy by ensuring billing and collections processes are executed correctly and escalations are handled promptly and appropriately.
    • Hire, lead, and develop a diverse high performing team, providing real time coaching and actionable feedback to build capability and exceed KPIs.
    • Drive performance through people and operational leadership, using KPIs, labor planning, and informed decision making to support member satisfaction, long term loyalty, and business results.
    • Deputize for the Gym General Manager when required, holding keyholder responsibilities and overseeing operations, people leadership, and decision making in their absence.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    Essential Skills:
    • Gym/Fitness Club Operations Experience – Prior experience in gym or fitness club operations within a high‑volume, multi‑department environment.
    • Member & Customer Service Excellence – Expertise in delivering outstanding member and customer experiences, calmly resolving issues, de‑escalating concerns, and creating a welcoming, service‑focused environment.
    • Health & Safety Knowledge – Strong understanding of health and safety practices, ensuring a safe environment for members and staff through adherence to club policies and legal regulations.
    • Clear Communication – Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with members, vendors, staff, and senior leadership.
    • Organizational Skills – Strong planning and coordination skills to keep operations, teams, and resources aligned and running efficiently.
    • Time Management & Prioritization – Ability to manage competing priorities, multitask efficiently, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution – Skilled at identifying operational, member, or team challenges and implementing effective, solutions‑oriented resolutions.
    • Scheduling & Labor Management – Experience planning schedules, managing labor efficiency, ensuring proper shift coverage, and adhering to staffing standards.
    • Facility & Equipment Management – Basic facility and equipment troubleshooting skills with the ability to coordinate timely repairs.
    • Vendor & Account Management – Experience managing vendors, service tickets, quotes, SLAs, billing workflows, and member account issue resolution.
    • Systems & Technology – Proficient using operating systems such as POS, CRM, billing/collections tools, logs, and reporting platforms. Experience using ABC IGNITE preferred.
    • Data and Reporting – Ability to interpret reports and use KPIs (e.g., audit scores, work order aging) to drive action and improvement.
    • Flexible Availability – Available to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and peak gym hours as needed.
    • Physical Requirements – Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods, and to lift up to 50 lbs as needed, with or without reasonable accommodation.
    Preferred Skills:
    • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply; Spanish proficiency is highly valued.
    • CPR Certified.
    Please note this is an onsite role and you must be able to work weekends and holidays. You must also be authorized to work in the United States.

    SALARY RANGE

    This role has a salary range between $60,000-65,000. We are committed to fair and consistent pay practices. The salary range shown represents the anticipated hiring range for this position and may vary depending on individual qualifications and internal equity
