Apple Valley Village Health Care Center, a Cassia senior community, is hiring a  Registered Nurse (RN)  to join our team as a  Wound Nurse ! Join our team where your clinical skills, compassion, and commitment to quality care are truly valued. As a Wound Nurse  at Apple Valley Health Care Center , you will perform wound assessments and management for our residents and be a resource for staff. Our ideal candidate has previous supervisory/ leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills. You will receive support from a weekly rounding wound physician provider team.

Position Type: Full-Time, benefit eligible position, working business hours including every 12th weekend and Holiday rotation. The hours are flexible!

Wage Range: $38 to $48 / hour depending on experience.

RN Wound Nurse Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate wound care plans for residents.  
• Become a resource to staff, nurse practitioners, physicians, residents, and families.
• Document wounds and measurements; Update physician on progress and obtain new treatment orders if needed.
• Audit nurses during dressing changes to assure proper technique.
• Notify Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow up action as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as required.

RN Wound Nurse Qualifications:

• Must have a current Minnesota Registered Nurse license and be in good standing.
• Must have a background in wound care.
• WOCN or WCC certified preferred, or willingness to receive within 6 months of hire.
• Supervisory/leadership experience preferred. 
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of staging of wounds.
• Self-starter with a desire to be a part of a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and strong problem-solving skills.
