SUMMARY: Provides security services to the District's schools and school grounds. Establishes and maintains a close partnership with school administrators and School Resource Officers (SRO) in order to provide a safe school environment. Assists school officials with their efforts to enforce the Board of Education policies and procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Computer literate; excellent organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication ability. Ability to follow all district policies and procedures. Ability to work independently, displaying initiative and enthusiasm for the tasks being done. Demonstrating strong communication skills, orally and in writing. Effectively communicate and coordinate details of training with trainees, director, secretary, mechanics, and state instructors. Ability to work without supervision, and work as a team player. Ability to document records accurately. Ability to listen effectively. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Ability to handle the stress of a security position. Passes physical fitness requirements listed in the "Physical Demands" section of this job description.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, emergency instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before parents, staff and students.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
