Job Description

Senior Midstream Revenue Accountant

The Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly growing oil and gas exploration and production company with an expanding midstream platform in the Appalachian Basin. Known for disciplined execution, strategic growth through acquisitions, and strong operational partnerships, this organization offers a collaborative environment where accounting plays a critical role in business decisions.

They are seeking a Senior Midstream Revenue Accountant to lead the accurate accounting, settlement, and reporting of revenues across a diverse midstream portfolio, including gathering, processing, fractionation, transportation, and related producer services. This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical accounting judgment, ownership of complex revenue streams, and close collaboration with Commercial, Operations, Measurement, Legal, and Finance teams.

In addition to core revenue responsibilities, this position will be deeply involved in acquisition support—contributing to accounting due diligence, post-close integration, and the continued development of scalable policies, procedures, and internal controls as the midstream business evolves.

Location
Hybrid position based in Morgantown, WV , with an expectation of working onsite three days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the end-to-end monthly revenue process for assigned midstream assets, from volume validation through settlement, posting, and reconciliation

  • Prepare, review, and analyze revenue recognition and settlement calculations using Quorum On Demand (ODA)

  • Manage imbalance accounting, netback calculations, and related true-ups across pipelines and processing facilities

  • Reconcile operational and financial volumes, partnering with Measurement and Operations teams to investigate and resolve complex variances

  • Interpret midstream contracts and tariffs, apply contractual economics, and ensure compliance with COPAS standards and internal policies

  • Support mergers and acquisitions by participating in accounting due diligence, reviewing commercial agreements, and assisting with post-acquisition integration

  • Lead the onboarding and integration of newly acquired midstream assets, including system setup, contract configuration, process standardization, and control alignment

  • Contribute to the development, documentation, and implementation of revenue accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls

  • Lead or support revenue-related close activities and balance sheet reconciliations using BlackLine

  • Serve as a primary accounting contact for internal and external audits and other assurance-related inquiries

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in oil and gas accounting and/or public accounting

  • CPA or equivalent credential strongly preferred

  • Strong command of revenue and accrual accounting, complex reconciliations, and COPAS standards; experience in a SOX-compliant or audited environment is required

  • Prior midstream revenue accounting experience strongly preferred; upstream exposure is a plus

  • Hands-on experience with Quorum On Demand (ODA), Enverus, and BlackLine

  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including accounting due diligence and post-close integration

  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform complex financial analysis

  • Proven ability to independently manage complex accounting processes in a fast-paced month-end close environment

  • Proactive, accountable professional with strong technical judgment and ownership mentality

  • Comfort establishing scalable policies, procedures, and internal controls in a growing organization

  • Ability to clearly translate complex accounting concepts into practical insights for non-accounting stakeholders

  • Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on risk mitigation, efficiency, and continuous improvement
