Setup Technician | Whitehall, MI

Salary Range: $44,000 - $69,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup and changeovers according to production schedules and specifications.
• Install, adjust, and calibrate tooling, fixtures, and components for various manufacturing processes.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and verify production readiness after each setup.
• Troubleshoot and resolve setup-related issues, machine malfunctions, and process deviations.
• Optimize machine parameters and processes to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce downtime.
• Document setup procedures, parameters, and maintenance activities accurately.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to enhance manufacturing processes and resolve technical challenges.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in machine setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Skilled in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on production machinery.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with PLC/HMI interfaces for basic diagnostics.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles for process optimization.
• Basic CAD software experience for reviewing designs or fixtures.
• Experience with welding or light fabrication for minor repairs/modifications.
