Women in Tourism Tasmania (WITT) was launched in September 2009 and founded to provide support, mentoring and networking opportunities for all women in the tourism & hospitality industry in Tasmania.
In 2010 a northern branch was formed, headed by Karen Phillips, Kim Jeffery and Kathy McConnell.
In February 2014 the Constitution was changed to include the closely allied hospitality industry and we became Women in Tourism & Hospitality Tasmania (WITH Tas).
Throughout the year WITH Tas hosts events designed to inspire, motivate and inform as well as provide an informal way for new women in our industries to meet and connect with others. For those already working in tourism, it’s the chance to mingle and catch up on what others are doing. It’s connecting to share experiences, contacts and to connect with expertise in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Annually WITH Tas offers a scholarship to a student undertaking tourism/hospitality studies and we are proud of the young women who have gone on to develop their careers further.
We have also supported various charities and causes over the last 13 years.
Heading into its 16th year, the WITH Tas Committee once again includes women from an impressive range of backgrounds and businesses who have equally varied skills and experience.
When I smell truffles, I just feel at home. It's my calm, it's my happy place.
Anna Terry
As WITH’s nominee, Anna was appointed to the board of the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT), Associations College, for 2025-2027.
A former dietician and now second-generation truffle farmer, Anna of The Truffle Farm Tasmania in Deloraine, brings vision and drive to everything she does.
Continuing her family’s legacy, Anna champions agritourism excellence, advocating for industry growth and collaborating with local businesses to help promote the region’s exceptional range of agricultural and tourism products.
Helping to elevate the state’s agritourism profile by leading The Truffle Farm Tasmania as a thriving experiential destination, Anna has won multiple awards including the Bronze for Excellence in Food Tourism at the 2024 Australian Tourism Awards, and the 2023 Tourism Minister’s Young Achiever Award.
Anna is a strong representative not only for WITH Tas, representing women in tourism and hospitality, but for the agritourism sector and regional Tasmania as well.
Anna follows Emily Hopwood, who served two terms on the TICT board as WITH’s nominee, and Kath McCann who paved the way for us in 2020-2021.
This document sets out the purpose and objectives of Women in Tourism & Hospitality Tasmania Inc., and provides a governance structure to support those objectives.
