SEEKING CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR / PROJECT MANAGER

ESTIMATOR / PROJECT MANAGER

prosperous Estimator will have:

» 3+ years of construction estimating practice.

» capability to read contract documents both plans and written specifications.

»Strong Math expertise

» capability to work in a time sensitive environment for bid submission deadlines.

» capability to prioritize estimates to accommodate required time frames and expedite long lead items for vendors and Subcontractor, so they may provide pricing in a timely fashion.

Knowledge and knowledge preferred of:

»Water, Sanitary Sewer, and storm drainage.

»Earth moving including cuts, fill, and rock removal.

»Concrete curbs, sidewalks, and site amenities.

»Asphalt pavement and Subbase.

»Civil site and Heavy Highway Construction.

»Prevailing Wage Law, Rules, and operations.

practice with the following preferred:

»Earthwork digitizing software.

»Performing quantity take offs to determine scope of work and magnitude.

»Estimating software such as Bid2Win, HCSS or similar.

Responsibilities include:

»Actively search online for bid opportunities, examples include Bid Net, NYS Contractor Reporter and Rev Plans.           &nb sp;

»Develop relationships with Vendors and Subcontractors.                       &nbs p;

»Develop relationships with Engineers for non-municipal, private, and commercial work.

»Solicit requests for proposals from Vendors and Subcontractors.

»Confirm Materials pricing and Subcontractor pricing are in conformity with project documents.

»Travel as needed to job sites, pre-bid meetings, Bid Openings, and Project meetings are required.

»Other tasks as the need arises.

Education preferred:

»Degree in civil engineering or business management

»Will accept a combination of education and practice.

»OSHA Certification

Construction Project Manager tasks and responsibilities
A Construction Project Manager is responsible for knowledge the project deliverables and creating timelines for different individuals and groups involved in the project to make sure the project remains on track. They must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties. tasks and responsibilities include:

»Coordinating tasks by different people on different sites to ensure uniformity upon project completion.

»Ensuring timely completion of the project to build client trust while avoiding unnecessary penalties.

»Working within the budget by adequately estimating the costs and cutting unnecessary expenses

»Procuring and allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions.

»Managing both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project.
