Status:             Full Time, Hourly Staff (40 hrs/wk)



General Description
The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and buildings including carpentry, heating and cooling, minor electrical, minor plumbing, masonry, and other building systems.

Primary tasks and Responsibilities

»Maintains and services various areas of the College, including painting, carpentry, masonry, minor plumbing, flooring, and other repairs as needed

»Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs

»Performs routine inspections of assigned buildings

»Will be required to answer emergency calls

»Requires indoor and outdoor work

»Requires the capability to drive a vehicle to visit job sites

»Effectively interact with vendors, staff, students and faculty

»Assist with event set ups and break downs

»Assist with snow removal in inclement weather

»Rotating emergency on-call schedule

»May require walking long distances, standing for extended periods, twisting, bending, reaching and kneeling

»Other tasks as assigned



Requirements



»Minimum 2-4 years’ practice in maintenance related functions

» capability to read and write in English, do basic math and follow instructions

» capability to read blue prints/make working sketches

»Work in a collaborative manner as part of the site team

»Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

»Use maintenance, trade and testing equipment and tools

»Valid NYS driver’s license required

» supervise work progress of vendors or outside contractors

» capability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance



Hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, & Sunday 3:30pm – 12:00am.
Overtime as deemed necessary.
Must work all Major College Events that fall on weekends/holidays
