The 2017-2018 Committee includes women from a great range of backgrounds and businesses who have equally varied skills. From Tourism Tasmania to a boutique hotel, event management and marketing and businesses of all sizes, this small group of women all have two things in common - true commitment to tourism in our beautiful state and supporting other women in the industry.

President: Jane Johnson
Jane started in travel in 1981 working for Ansett, then various travel agencies and for the last 24 years has owned her own agencies. She also started the first online site - Australian Discount Travel & Tours.
After an epiphany in Fiji, Jane set up Travel with a Cause in 1996. This is a not for profit travel agency that buys mosquito nets and lifestraws to keep travellers safe in developing countries. These are then left behind as a legacy.
Jane's passion for Tasmanian sees her as the biggest online booking agency for Spirit of Tasmania. She is also a Destination Management Company (DMC) for inbound international students.
Jane has been a member of WITH Tas since ??? and this is her second year as President.
Vice President: Rita Warrener
This is Rita's third year on the Committee but she has worked in tourism for several decades across retail travel, tourism marketing, industry development. Her current role is Policy & Industry Coordinator at Tourism Tasmania.
Rita stays in the industry because she genuinely believes that tourism provides economic and social benefits for Tasmanians, and is an industry that is sustainable into the
future.

Rita says she's fortunate to be working in such a positive industry. Visitors love Tasmania and the people who work in the industry are passionate about what they deliver.
Secretary: Helen Hopwood
Helen and her daughter Meg run Sandy Bay Apartment. They have lived in Tasmania all of their lives but traveled extensively intrastate, interstate and overseas. Helen is passionate about tourism and has been involved with WITH Tas since its inception in ?? Helen has a an extensive knowledge of Tasmania and the wonderful tourism opportunities in our beautiful state.
Helen has been a member of WITH since its foundation.
Treasurer: Kerry Scambler
After thirteen years with the national sales and marketing team at J.Boag & Son, Kerry moved to the online world of VisitVineyards.com, a national wine and food travel guide where she has been for the last ten years. And yes, there could be a theme there!
Through her editorial and promotional work at VisitVineyards, Kerry has come into contact with innumerable small businesses in the tourism and hospitality world, mainly in the country's regional areas. This prompted her to set up her own business, The KS Principle, aimed at helping small tourism operators with their marketing, writing, online presence and often simply as a sounding board over coffee!
Originally a Launnie girl, Kerry is now heavily involved with her local South Arm Peninsula community where she has Treasurer and then President of the very active residents' association for around 15 years.
This is Kerry's second year on the WITH Tas Committee and first as Treasurer.
Membership officer & General Committee: Jill Bannon
Jill has been a member of WITH Tas since it’s beginning, holding the positions of treasurer, general committee member and membership and database coordinator.
Jill operates her own conference and event management business – Jill Bannon Corporate Event Management (Tas) www.jbemtas.com.au – which specialises in boutique and mid-size conference and event management.
She also works for one of Tasmania’s foremost charities – Cancer Council Tasmania – organising and coordinating the fundraising events in southern Tasmania.
With over 30 years in the hospitality, tourism and event management industry, and having lived and worked in the north, on the west coast and in the south of our island, Jill is a passionate advocate for developing the conference and event business within Tasmania.
General Committee: Pam Nichols
Pam has been in the tourism industry for about 30 years in a variety of positions.
One of her more exciting roles was whilst was working for RACT and being subcontracted to Military Tours who had the contract for all the American navy ships visiting Australian ports. This involved organising the accommodation and tours for the navy personnel during their visits to Hobart. During this time Pam cruised from Freemantle to Hobart on board the aircraft carrier John C Stennis which had 5,000 men and 600 women on board.
Pam currently works with Tourism Brochure Exchange in the office doing accounts, wages, stock orders and trying to keep about 250 clients happy! TBE has 14 staff state-wide, three offices and three warehouses. They also run the information centre on the Spirit of Tasmania.
Pam says this a most enjoyable and rewarding job and she looks forward to coming to work each day to tackle whatever challengers are sent her way.
